Epic mascot brings international attention to Canada's largest oyster festival

This multi-eyed oyster mascot 'Pearl' is getting international attention for its interesting aesthetic. The Weather Network's Nathan Coleman has more from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Halifax Oyster Festival takes place on November 25th and 26th on the city’s beautiful waterfront.

The festival, which is the largest of its kind in Canada, normally takes place in September. However due to Hurricane Fiona arriving at the same time this year, organizers were forced to postpone the event.

Whether you're an oyster lover or simply just bivalve curious, the festival offers a wonderful opportunity for folks to learn about oyster culture and where local sea farmers and their families shuck for you.

And if that wasn’t enough to make you want to head out, hopefully the multi-eyed viral mascot, Pearl, will do the trick!

To learn more about the event and some background on Pearl’s recent rise to fame, watch The Weather Network’s Nathan Coleman’s interview with festival founder Christine Oreskovich in the video above!
