Monday, October 15, 2018, 5:04 PM - An interactive NOAA satellite map helped a Hurricane Michael evacuee locate her trapped aunt and uncle, ABC News reports.
Mother of two Amber Gee evacuated her Callaway, Florida home near Panama City Thursday and assumed her relatives left as well.

But on Saturday she was browsing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) interactive satellite map and saw H-E-L-P spelled out in logs on her grandmother's property.

Gee, 24, told ABC her grandmother Emily Bently evacuated but her uncle Ernest, her aunt and a friend stayed behind and became trapped.
After seeing the image, Gee contacted local authorities and requested a welfare check. A team made it to the house around 2 a.m. Sunday after cutting through several downed trees and rescued the group.

"The hurricane has turned everything upside down everywhere," Gee told ABC.
"Some were more fortunate than others. I'm just happy that everybody is safe and sound and, hopefully, soon we will all get through this together and recover from this storm."
