Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Locations: eastern mainland Nova Scotia and most of Cape Breton Island.

Total rainfall: 50 to 70 mm, possibly higher over the Cape Breton Highlands.

Time span: intensifying this morning, continuing until early this evening.

Remarks: Rain at times heavy is expected to taper off late this afternoon and this evening. Rainfall rates in excess of 10 to 15 mm per hour are possible in the heaviest rain.
