Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.

Description

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessiverainfall continues.* WHERE...A portion of southwest Michigan, including the followingcounties, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ottawa and Van Buren.* WHEN...Until 1145 AM EDT Saturday.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 540 AM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicatedheavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.- The heaviest rain will likely shift east of the region by 700am. Radar estimates that 1.5 to 3.0 inches of rain fell overmuch of the advisory area. Thus some urban and poor drainageflooding is likely occurring, especially over Allegan andnorthern Van Buren Counties.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Holland, Allegan, South Haven, Zeeland, Wayland, Otsego,Plainwell, Middleville, Bangor, Caledonia, Fennville,Saugatuck, Freeport, Martin, Beechwood, Gull Lake, HollandSP, Van Buren SP, Dorr and Alamo.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
