Roads reopen as cleanup continues after major flooding on N.L. west coast
Cleanup continues in the town of Cape St. George after significant rainfall on Newfoundland's west coast Friday caused significant flooding and road washouts.
The town announced on social media that the respective roads in Marches Point and Stanley Rowe's are now open to vehicle traffic, while Rouzes Brook remains closed.
Route 460 from Marches Point to Rouzes Brook was closed to all traffic Saturday, including emergency vehicles, due to the washouts.

The town posted on social media that the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is working to get specific pipes to continue repairs and it will provide more information to residents Monday.
Video posted to social media Friday and Saturday showed entire culverts washing away, and at least one house with a rush of water running through the front door.
Cape St. George mayor Stella Cornect told CBC News Saturday that quite a few homes have flooded, and is advising residents who have sustained property damage to send photographs to her email.

Cornect says she has contacted the provincial government asking for help and that local MHAs have been responsive.
"Some people are devastated because some people do not have insurance," she said. "With life the way it is now, people can't afford it."
